Huon achieves prestigious Global G.A.P. accreditation

Huon Aquaculture became the first salmon producer in Australia to achieve the internationally recognised Global G.A.P. accreditation today, capping a stunning six months for the family-owned business. The accreditation comes off the back of the company’s ‘Tasmanian Exporter of the Year’ award last month and also retaining  an ‘A’ rating by the prestigious British Retail Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety for the third year in as row – the nation’s only salmon processor to achieve it. Huon awarded BRC international accreditation

Huon Aquaculture has been awarded British Retail Consortium (BRC) Certification, an internationally recognised benchmark for best practice in the food industry and a stamp that retailers rely on globally, for its newly founded Parramatta Creek processing plant. Currently the only seafood producer in Australia holding the certification, Huon has been recognised not only for quality produce but for international standard practice in its sustainable production methods.
